Direct answer: validate the audience system before activating remarketing
Do not treat the presence of a Microsoft Universal Event Tracking tag as proof that remarketing is ready. Microsoft states that a UET tag placed across a website records what customers do after interacting with an ad. The resulting data can support conversion goals and remarketing lists. That confirms the collection mechanism and its intended uses, but it does not confirm that consent, event meaning, audience rules, exclusions or lead-quality feedback are correct for a particular business.
CreatikLab’s operational rule is therefore simple: activate or expand remarketing only when the team can show evidence for collection, interpretation, eligibility and business value. A browser request proves that data moved. It does not prove that the visitor belongs in an audience, that a form submission is qualified or that sales wants more people like that visitor.
For advertisers already investing in Google Ads, this is a cross-platform control problem rather than a tag-copying exercise. Preserve the commercial definitions that matter across platforms, then verify Microsoft’s implementation independently. A specialist should document what is shared, what differs and which system owns each decision.
