Direct answer: audit operational access before buying more demand
Retailers should review Shopify user access before a major Google Ads promotion when store administrators, marketers, POS teams and seasonal workers can affect the customer journey. Shopify has unified POS and admin staff management under Settings > Users. Existing users, roles and permissions were migrated automatically, according to Shopify, although one broader organization-level permission was deliberately not granted automatically. That change makes a pre-promotion review timely: inherited access may remain appropriate, but migration alone does not prove that every account still has the right business purpose.
This is an operational control, not a Google Ads optimization feature. Shopify does not state that these roles change bidding, targeting, ads or Google Ads account permissions. CreatikLab’s interpretation is narrower: paid campaigns can expose weak retail operations by increasing orders, store visits, support requests and last-minute merchandising changes. The useful deliverable is therefore an access-and-campaign dependency audit that identifies who can alter Shopify settings, who approves changes, and which evidence must exist before traffic is scaled.
