Direct answer: the connector simplifies integration, not accountability
Lovable’s built-in AI connector can add capabilities such as chat, summaries, document question answering, semantic retrieval, image analysis, translation, speech functions and workflow automation without requiring the builder to configure a provider or bring an API key. Lovable states that it generates a project key, sends model calls through a backend edge function and supports streamed responses. Those are useful implementation primitives; they are not proof that an application is accurate, safe, economical or ready for customers.
The practical decision is therefore not simply whether the connector works. It is whether the proposed feature has a defined business task, controlled inputs, measurable acceptance criteria and a named owner when the output is wrong. CreatikLab’s operational position is that no AI feature should reach production solely because a demonstration looks fluent. Production approval should depend on an inspectable test set, permission review, data-flow map, monitoring plan and rollback path.
